Middlesex Juniors Bring Home Fantastic Results from the British Junior Champs

The England Squash British Junior Champs were held in Manchester this weekend and Middlesex had 3 junior competing for their places.  Abigail Wilkinson (GU15s) and Margot Prow (GU17s) of Southgate and Ben Harrison (BU15s) of Coolhurst.

Abigail had a fantastic weekend winning 3 of her matches beating some of her long-term rivals and finishing an outstanding 21st place.

Ben had a battle of a 2nd round match against the No 2 seed H Khalil from Warwickshire.  It was hard to believe that Ben was carrying an injury, with some lengthy rally battling away for each point.  The 4th game ended 3-1 to Khalil, but the result didn’t justify the effort Ben gave to the match.  Ben finished 16th.

Flying the flag for Middlesex was Margot.  The first rounds were straightforward until meeting the No 1 seed from Scotland in the semi-finals.  Her opponent in the semis was just too strong this year, but Margot will definitely be coming back stronger and full of spirit to fight for the title next year.  Margot finished a fabulous 3rd place beating E Coxon for a place on the podium.
